Unveiling Insights through Autism and ADHD Assessments
Our clinic offers in-depth assessments for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). These assessments go beyond mere diagnoses, delving into the intricacies of each individual's profile to offer a comprehensive picture of their strengths and areas that may require focused attention.
Comprehensive Assessment Process
1. Initial Consultation: Our journey begins with a thorough discussion to understand your concerns, challenges, and goals.
2. Diagnostic Tools: To ensure accuracy our assessments are informed by using gold-standard assessments like the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2) and the Monteiro Interview Guidelines for Diagnosing Autism Spectrum, Second Edition (MIGDAS-2), and the Diagnostic Interview for ADHD, 5th Edition (DIVA-5). These tools provide valuable insights into autistic and ADHD strengths and differences.
Where required we may also include a cognitve assessment to ensure we are getting a full understanding of you/your childs strengths and areas of challege.
3. Observation and Interaction: During the assessment, our skilled psychologists observe and interact with your child in a comfortable setting to gather relevant information.
4. Analysis and Evaluation: your psychologist will carefully analyze the assessment outcomes, combining data from various sources to create a holistic understanding of your child's profile.
5. Comprehensive Report: You'll receive a detailed report that outlines the assessment findings, observations, and diagnosis, if applicable. This report provides a clear picture of your child's unique strengths and potential challenges.
6. Tailored Recommendations: Our assessment goes beyond diagnosis. We provide tailored recommendations based on you/your child's needs, including strategies for home, school, and other relevant settings.
Our Approach
At our clinic, our approach is grounded in empathy, professionalism, and dedication. We understand that each individual is unique, and our assessments are designed to honor that uniqueness. Our goal is to empower both you/your child with the insights and tools needed to navigate the challenges and celebrate the victories.
Pleae note:
If you're considering an ADHD assessment with potential medication exploration, it's wise to consider consulting directly with a psychiatrist or paediatrician. They may conduct their own evaluation, saving time and costs by potentially eliminating the need for an additional psychologist's report. However, if you're uncertain about medication or prefer exploring other options first, seeing a psychologist for assessment can provide valuable insights into understanding your or your child's needs and identifying the most suitable support strategies.
