Hey, parents! Got plans for the school holidays? We've got something cool cooking up that your kid might just love – Short-Term Interventions for Children. Our friendly team are here to make these holidays a blast with 4 x 60-minute small group sessions that are all about growth and good times.
Managing Big Feelings
Emotions can be a wild ride, right? Our group sessions are like a pit stop where your kiddo can learn new ways to handle those big tricky feelings. Plus, they won't be the only ones – they'll be hanging out with other kids, and our clinicians will be there to guide the way.
Self-Esteem and Confidence
Everyone could use a little confidence boost, right? In these sessions, your child will get to know themselves better and embrace their awesomeness. Through fun activities and easy chats, we help them shine a light on their strengths. And guess what? They'll do it in a group, so they'll also get to know some new buddies along the way.
Assertiveness Adventures
Speaking up is a superpower! Our assertiveness group is all about teaching kids how to express themselves with confidence. It's like a crash course in saying what's on your mind and being empowered with peers. With fun role-playing and interactive stuff, our clinicians make it an adventure in building self-assured communication skills.
Social Stars
Friendships are like treasures, and we're here to help your kiddo navigate tricky social situations. In this group, they'll dive into the world of social interactions. Through games and activities, they'll learn social problem solving skills to support them to make choices that work for them. All while connecting with others in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
These sessions are planned to run during the school holidays and will be spread over 4 sessions 60 minutes session. Days to be confirmed, pending numbers and age groups. It's a great chance for your kid to learn and grow while having a good time. So, if you're up for a holiday adventure that's equal parts learning and laughter, grab a spot for your kiddo now!

Groups
Like Minded & Co. kids activity groups
We are taking expressions of interest for our Like Minded & Co groups for Term 4. Our Gamers Group and arty crafty groups are starting up again, days to be confirmed. Age range of the groups will depend on interest.and numbers. If enough interst across older and younger kids we will explore a second group.
We will also run another art group if there is enough interest.
We are matching interests and ages to set up activity based social experiences for kids across different ages. Groups will depend on numbers and available times.
Participants will be supported by a support worker (or two depending on needs and numbers) to establish their group goals and agenda, the activities that they will do over the remainder of the term. The group is aimed to bring kids with similar interests together to have fun, explore new friendships (and to learn the problem-solving skills that go with friendships), learn and share their skills in topics/areas in which they are curious and/or confident.
Groups will cost approximately $40 per session, pending times and numbers (you may be eligible for NDIS funding please consult your LAC). There may also be a one-off materials fee of approximately $20 for the term.

Like Minded & Co. Parents Club
We are offering a collaborative group space for parents to get together to learn about neurodivergence, to talk about the highs and lows of parenting neurodiverse children and even what it's like to be a neurodivergent parent. Open to neurodiverse and neurotypical parents alike. This group will define its own goals, topics and will be a formal or as informal needed. The group will set the goals/topics in the first session.
$60-100 per session (1.5 hours), pending numbers. NDIS Funding may be applicable - talk to your Plan Manager/LAC. Group billed under line item 15_038_0117_1_3) or psychology therapy depending on numbers.
The group will be run by Katherine Hill, Clinical Psychologist, who is ND and a Mum of a gorgeous ND young person.

Parents autism and anxiety group
Based on Tony Attwood and Michelle Garnett's CBT parent's manual this 5 session (90 mins) group is designed for parents of Autistic children in primary school who struggle with anxiety.
Recognising, expressing and understanding emotions helps young children make sense of their life experiences. Autistic kids can have significant difficulties with recognising and processing emotions which can lead to high levels of anxiety as they struggle to make sense of the unpredictable world around them.
The Fun with Feelings programme is designed to help parents support their children with emotional regulation and to decrease anxiety.
$531.5 for the 5 week program. NDIS Funding may be applicable - talk to your Plan Manager/LAC. Group billed under line item 15_038_0117_1_3).
