Youth Minded is a service for kids and young people (from 5 to 24 years old) who require assistance with a range of activities to fully participate in school, home and the general community in a positive way.
We know that it can be hard for families to find the time and energy to implement new routines, help kids to try new activities and practising therapy homework. Our support workers can help busy families meet their NDIS goals.
Our friendly team of Support Workers provide a range of services for kids and young people with disabilities who need extra support, these can include:
- Support in accessing and participating in the community such as attending footy training, art class or learning how to buy tickets for the movies.
- Support in daily activities such as afternoon routines, play activities and getting ready for school.
- Developing and practising new skills including daily living skills, communication skills and social interaction skills
- Facilitating self-advocacy and empowerment for young adults
We work alongside other professionals and families in the life of the child or young person, ensuring a wholistic approach through a collaborative partnership with families and allied health services.
Our youth support team are closely connected with the psychologists of Family Minded. Our team have regular contact with an experienced youth worker or psychologist to help them to assist kids and young people to practise therapy targets prepared by Family Minded psychologists (for our current psychology clients) or allied health providers from other services.
We provide support to plan-managed or self-managed NDIS clients. We can also provide support to privately funded children and young people.
